HIRING CHIEF ACCOUNTANT
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business administration
Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good
standing
Minimum 3 years' experience in management
Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and
databases
Expertise working with financial statements
Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details
Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
coordination with HR in order to ensure
accuracy in calculation of payroll pay-outs
and accruals.
SPECIFIC TASKS
1.Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, and provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering high standard service.
2. Ensure workflow
is in continuous adherence to all approved policies & procedures.
3. Motivate
subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities to take part
in change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best
practice and changes in the competitive environment.
4. Plan and maintain the general ledger (GL) structure.
5. Ensure thatprovisions, accruals, prepayments,
and other entries for periodic and annual closing of financial accounts,
accurate and adequately supported.
6. Prepare annual profit and loss statements and monthly closing and management accounting
reports for year-end and month-end closures.
7. Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
8. Evaluate on a continuous basis the existing procedures for recording all financial
transactions, journal entries and postings to ledgers for accuracy,
completeness and compliance with the established accounting policies and
procedures.
9. Oversee auditors reporting and ensure external auditors management and handling.
10. Prepare monthly reconciliations of all GL accounts including bank and cash balances andensure the balances in the sweeping accounts match to the head office.
11. Ensure effective cost accounting practices which account for all products including
product inclusions and ensure operations
restaurant managers understand and manage the cost of
sales margin.
12. Investigate and report on any significant discrepancy uncovered in stock takes.
13. Supervise recording and sign off for all assets acquired or disposed.
14. Oversee verification of payroll amounts, in coordination with HR in order to ensure
accuracy in calculation of payroll pay-outs
and accruals.
15. Monitor accounts that are open to abuse such as travel, entertainment, duty meals,
employee discounts and highlight any unusual activity to management.
