Summary: The Air Freight Operations & Pricing Specialist will communicate and establish excellent relationships with air carriers, overseas agents, and co-workers in order to ensure the best possible competitive rates, whilst ensuring excellent productivity and customer satisfaction. Taking the responsibility of assisting with ad-hoc duties, you will maintain administration documents, keeping them up to date and accurate
Responsibilities
Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability.
Coordinates with airlines and DSV offices for the quoting process of shipments.
Maintaining continuous communication with vendors, shippers, carriers and DSV overseas offices throughout the quotation process and choosing proper routing appropriate to the customer's needs.
Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to supervisor, manager or department head.
Send routing and follow up with origin and update customer with status at all stages till freight arrives in Qatar.
Follow up to ensure the air freight is cleared and delivered to customer on time, update systems accordingly
Update the tracking sheet with freight status and send to the customer on daily basis.
Any other related duties / projects assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet the business exigencies.
Qualifications & Characteristics
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Economics/Logistics or freight forwarding
A minimum of 5 years work experience within the Freight Forwarding industry
International working experience preferred
