Job Description
Summary:
Grant Thornton Qatar's External Audit department is rapidly growing. Accordingly we are looking for Audit associates to work in the Audit and Assurance department in our Doha office. The candidate will have the opportunity to work as a team member on diverse client engagements as part of our local practice which includes international/multinational companies. For decades, Grant Thornton's assurance professionals have been helping clients improve their performance through the most challenging business cycles.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Prepare financial statements as per IFRS and other requirements.
• Apply ISAs and their requirements.
• Ability to perform audit procedures independently.
• Obtain and document appropriate audit evidence addressing the relevant audit objectives.
• Identify audit differences, issues and escalations as appropriate.
Identify and report weaknesses in accounting systems.
• Ability to quickly learn and use audit software.
Qualification/experience:
• At least 2.5 years of experience in auditing in an audit firm preferably in top 6 firms.
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting and or professional accounting qualification.
Successful record of engagement management.
• Fluent in English (Reading, Speaking and Writing).
Have good knowledge of IFRS and their application. • Previous experience in Grant Thornton affiliated firm and software is preferred.
