Production Technician - Control Room



What’s the role?


The Production Technician panel role will operate the LNG, Utilities and Storage & Loading areas of the facility, control the safe execution of work utilizing permit to work and safe isolation systems and perform response roles in the event of an emergency.


Location: Curtis Island, Gladstone, Australia


This role is based on Curtis Island with a daily Ferry commute, working a rotational shift roster.

The Production Technician accountabilities include:


Operate LNG facility from the Central control room panel including development and risk assessment of operational overrides

Develop, review and work within operating procedures

Operate the LNG panel following standard operating procedures to meet QGC’s environmental commitment, compliance, and standards

Ensure production targets and quality specifications are met for all products and waste streams

Report all parameters/conditions found outside normal operating guidelines. Take action to return conditions to within operating guidelines and escalate those that cannot.

Ensure guidelines, standing instructions and procedures are understood and adhered to by all maintenance, contractors and other personnel working on or otherwise accessing the plant

Maintain a comprehensive shift log indicating key elements of the plant status, process parameters and equipment availability

Conduct comprehensive shift hand-overs to ensure a smooth transition across shifts

Respond to trips and emergency situations in a safe and efficient manner

Troubleshoot process and technical problems; recommend any changes that may require implementation to prevent reoccurrence

Provide operational support to other work groups as required

Perform emergency response roles as an Operations shift team member, in the control room under MOME protocol. Participate in training and simulation activities to maintain and enhance skills in the application of emergency response procedures. Take part in reviews of emergency response plans & procedures.

Mechanical Technician



What’s the role?


The position of Mechanical Maintenance Technician – is responsible to perform hands on maintenance and coordinate the Maintenance Execution on QSGTL site. The two important aspects are executing the maintenance job on time in a safe manner with high quality and driving Continuous Improvement. Candidate is responsible for driving the work activities to completion from end to end through professional coordination with multi discipline teams and Contractor Partners. He / She is responsible for ensuring discipline delivery & implementation of agreed targets. He / She is required to Comply with the Companies code of conduct, Procedures and Permit to Work mandatory requirements.


Accountability

Compliance with the Company's HSSE policy and guidelines. Demonstrate safety leadership is a key element of preferred candidates. Evaluate discipline requirements, develop maintenance plans, and carry out mechanical maintenance activities in area of responsibility

Prepare and complete relevant QA/QC documentation for all activities and support RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations.

Follow Gas Game/AMS ME (Maintenance Execution) process and use SAP tools to manage notifications, work orders, material management, and job history recording.

Create and maintain a harmonious industrial relations climate in order to minimize conflict.

Lead/ Liaise with contractor partners for maintenance activities and services provided by contractors related to maintenance.

Able to work effectively with minimum supervision and able to take important technical & business decisions.

Strong team player with highly effective communications towards stakeholders / interpersonal & coaching skills.

Have ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.

To be able to coach and train National Mechanical Technicians, Trainees and Contractor Partner personnel.

Establish materials and equipment required to correctly complete all allocated tasks.

Participate in on call Duty Roster, working additional time &/or weekends upon request.

Ensure timely and effective progress on the relevant company provided competency program TDP (Technician Development Program).


Dimensions


The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is part of the Maintenance Team - Liquid Processing Area responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities for pearl GTL complex.

The desired candidate will be accountable for the maintenance of equipment’s based on approved maintenance strategies, procedures and working instructions to ensure the availability and integrity of the mechanical equipment’s and system thus meeting the requirements of the company.

The job offers the unique opportunities to be a part of the pearl GTL organization and ensure that the project gets delivered according to the plan.

Compliance to the company’s code of conduct, procedures and permit to work are mandatory requirements


What We Need From You


The candidate should have at least 10 years hands on experience in maintenance of various Rotating equipment, Static equipment & Piping system including Compressor, Pumps, Column, Heat Exchanger, Vessel, Valves in Oil and Gas & Petrochemical Industry.

Lead by example, coordinate complex operations with other stakeholder with respect of professionalism

Lead the Hand on execution of maintenance activities of Mechanical equipment to ensure availability/ technical integrity by carrying out the day-to-day Mechanical maintenance works (PMs/CMs) including shutdown maintenance.

Lead and direct the group of Shell team and Contractor partners for the assigned jobs/ tasks.

Coaching and develop National Technicians embedded within Maintenance team and ability to mentor junior colleagues.

Undertake & lead various specialized mechanical tasks such as overhauling of rotating equipment, mechanical seal replacement, static equipment inspection, piping system, etc.

Work efficiently within maintenance team, striving for adding value where possible.

Identify problem areas and derive possible solutions

Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of equipment failure is required.

The incumbent shall have knowledge in scientific principles, different measuring principles, engineering fundamentals and computer technology.

The candidates shall have the ability to work within a multicultural team environment and must be able to communicate effectively.

The candidate must hold minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

The candidate must be able to prioritize, organize and execute maintenance activities independently, working to challenging timelines and managing conflicting priorities.

Fluency in both written and verbal English is mandatory, and will be tested during interview process

Computer skill – Microsoft Office and working experience on SAP system is essential
