Job Summary


We are currently seeking an experienced, and thorough chief accountant to join our rapidly growing medical firm. In this role, you will demonstrate your management skills and accounting expertise in a variety of personal and corporate accounting practices, including overseeing payroll and taxes. You must be highly accurate and efficient, utilizing your vast knowledge of the financial business, upholding our standard of exceptional customer service, and, above all else, ensuring that consistent, accurate accounting services are provided.


Duties and Responsibilities


Manage and oversee the entire accounting team

Reviewing financial statements and reporting on any errors or anomalies in accounting methodology

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders such as attorneys and external parties such as suppliers

Preparing financial statements for reporting purposes

Monitoring cash flow to ensure that bills are paid on time and that there is enough money available to cover upcoming expenses

Preparing reports on company performance including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses

Reviewing financial records, contracts, and other documentation to determine accuracy and completeness of data

Participating in or leading internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls within an organization’s financial management system

Conducting research to identify new accounting methods or procedures which could improve efficiency or effectiveness of operations

Identifying issues with accounting processes or procedures that could lead to future errors or misinterpretations of data

Conduct all necessary training to keep the team's skills and knowledge up to date

See that our financial records are accurate and up to date

Ensure that all necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled

Review corporate and personal income tax returns to ensure accuracy

Advise stakeholders regarding the financial status of the business in a timely manner

Oversee the processing of state and federal payroll taxes

Monitor and mentor/train junior staff, clerks, and bookkeepers

Detect and address potential compliance issues proactively

Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times

Uphold the excellent reputation of our firm

Maintain highly organized and updated client files

Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve shared goals

Report directly to the operations manager

Requirements and Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing

Quickbooks ProAdvisor or other relevant certifications required

Minimum 3 years' experience in management

Minimum 7 years' experience as a CPA in a corporate setting

Extensive corporate and personal tax experience

Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases

Expertise working with Quickbooks and financial statements

Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details

Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers

Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
