System And Database Administrator
Job Summary:
Systems and Database implementation and planning
Planning and implementation of IT systems in coordination with application team such as;
Review database design and monitor size and space available in order to ensure sufficient capacity exists to meet business requirements.
System support for the software implementation project.
System and Database Administration
Administer and monitor database & system performance and server hardware by installing, upgrading and fine tuning the database in order to increase efficiency and response time.
Administer the server virtualization platform and its underlying physical servers and clusters.
Ensure compatibility between the number of users and the number of granted licenses; and maintain adherence to legal considerations on the same.
Assist in improving reports for use throughout Al Koot after analyzing users’ needs and information availability with respect to database applications and established business rules.
Ensure safety and availability of Databases by checking timely scheduling and consistency of backups.
Administer the Backup systems such as dell networker and ensure the backups are performed as per the backup strategies and polices.
Administer corporate wide remote access platform such as Citrix XenApp
Administer Mobile MDM and mobile applications infrastructure.
Administer Cloud infrastructure with relevant expertise.
Monitor and Administer datacentre activities and ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the primary and alternate datacentres
Regularly updating ERP file system with latest bug and data fixes
Administration of system in windows, Linux and Oracle Sparc Solaris platforms
Maintain the internetworking of varies platforms such as Cisco, Dell, VMware, Nutanix, VXRail platforms
Database/System Documentation
Create and maintain documentation for all database and Systems related activities and changes made, to enable all records and rationales of changes to be available for future reference.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in IT or IT related field
OCP Certification is an added advantage
5-6 years of experience in managing different types of databases, SQL, Oracle, … and systems like ERP mainly
5-6 years’ experience in system administration, specific areas to be covered such as VMware Virtualization, cloud administration, Datacenter administration, storage and backup, IP telephony, system and network integration, Linux Solaris, VDI and Application virtualization, Citrix etc. in addition to domain knowledge of system administration and database administration.
Experience in SQL Clustering, SQL Queries, MS Server 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, Performance Tuning.
Experience building and implementing databases, debugging, SSIS, SSRS, and DTS as well as migrating DTS packages into SSIS.
Skills needed:
Detailed understanding of database tuning, monitoring and security.
Highly experienced in handling Oracle Database on windows, Solaris.
Experienced in handling Databases on RAC setup.
Sound knowledge of Oracle Forms/Reports (setup and Configuration).
Internal customer service orientation
Sound knowledge of network topologies and components
Certification in Microsoft Systems
Project management skills
